Crossdresser feelings

The range of feelings expressed by Crossdressers covers a wide range.
From positive feelings ,happiness, warmth, sexiness and attractiveness, a feeling of general well being, vulnerability sometimes mixed with negative feelings, guilt, humiliation, shame, hurt, a feeling of dirtiness and worthlessness. Other feelings may include "girliness" and a sense of "rightness".
While many men enjoy the positive feelings of dressing, there are men that enjoy the negative feelings or a mixture of both. There are many that use
either positive or negative feelings as a release for feelings they do not allow themselves in daily life. Some use negative feelings to cope with their desire to dress. They seek relationships with dominants that "force" them into crossdressing. A possible way of releasing themselves from responsibility for their own feelings.
Many crossdressers reach a point where they will quickly undress and some will experience negative after feelings.

The causes of these feelings are generally unknown. I have never uncovered a suitable answer. Women get feelings wearing clothes as well but not to the extent that men do when they crossdress. This may be due to society's acceptance of women wearing men's clothes.

Heterosexual Crossdresser Overview

A heterosexual crossdresser is a man who is attracted to women and also enjoys dressing
up in women's clothing to varying degrees for various purposes. The type of clothing can
range from a single item (i.e. stockings or panties) to full outfits with hair, makeup and
accessories. The time spent crossed dressed may be as little as one sexual encounter to
evenings out. In some cases, it can last for several days.

Why?

There are many theories but I doubt that there is any one true answer. One answer could not
possibly cover all cases. The reasons for crossdressing are as varied and unique as the men
who participate. Generally, men get a sense of well being and security, sometimes submissivness,
when dressing. Some love the feel of the fabrics involved. Some start out of curiosity and
like the feelings it gives them. The powerful social taboos are also a reason.

Are crossdressers Gay?

Not neccessarily.  The number of heterosexual men who engage in it far outnumber those
who are gay or bi sexual.

Do crossdressers want to become women?

Some do  eventually, have gender reassignment surgery.  Some feel possessed of a "second self"
or female spirit as in a double life. Crossdressing liberates that other identity.
For the majority, it is simply a sexual excitement that they derive from it.

Can they be "healed"?

I do not believe this is possible as they suffer from no identifiable mental illness.
They will promise to never do it again and go right back to it.

A vast majority of crossdressers feel ashamed and humiliated by it. They think there is
something wrong with themselves. They believe that their desire to crossdress, makes them
less of a man. They deal with this conflict on a daily basis. They assign too much importance
to the incorrect assumptions of society.  They do not realize that they can accept their desire to
crossdress and still be a man.

Heterosexual Crossdressers are caught between the heterosexual and homosexual worlds and truly
accepted by neither.  The misconceptions and biases of both communities drive them into a secret
suffering.  They can someday deal with it in their acceptance of themselves and not concern
themselves with what either community thinks.

I can never hope to make crossdressing accepted to the general public.
What I hope to do, is help those who crossdress, to accept themselves and feel
more secure with their desire to dress.
Crossdressing is a facet  of a man's character. It does not  define it.
